About SalaryHourlyRate.com

← Back to Calculator

SalaryHourlyRate.com started as a simple question: what am I actually earning right now, this minute, at my desk? Most salary calculators give you one static number and stop there. We wanted something that made pay feel real — a live, ticking view of your earnings that updates as time passes, alongside the tax math that turns a gross number into what actually lands in your bank account.

What We Build

Our tools are built for people who think in both hourly and annual terms:

  • Freelancers and contractors who bill by the hour and need to convert that into an annual comparison
  • Salaried employees curious what their salary breaks down to per hour, day, or minute
  • Job seekers comparing offers across different states with different tax burdens
  • Hourly workers who want to see, in real time, what a shift is worth after taxes

How the Numbers Work

We use the standard 2,080-hour work year (40 hours a week × 52 weeks) to convert between hourly and annual pay, and a simplified effective-rate model (a flat federal estimate plus your state's top marginal rate) to estimate take-home pay. These are estimates for planning purposes, not a substitute for a paystub or a tax professional — see our Terms of Use for details.

Free, No Account Required

Every calculator on this site runs entirely in your browser — your wage, salary, and state selection are never sent to or stored on our servers. See our Privacy Policy for the full picture. The site is supported by ads, which helps us keep every tool free.
